General FAQ

Octo Browser freezes on launch

There are several reasons why this may occur:

  1. Unstable connection. Try connecting your device to another network or using your mobile Internet connection.
  2. Connection using a VPN. Try running Octo Browser without the VPN.
  3. Some providers may incorrectly resolve DNS. Try changing the DNS to Cloudflare 1.1.1.1 / 1.0.0.1

Other solutions for Mac when working with Octium

  • Make sure your account has administrator privileges.
  • Try downloading and installing a fresh build from the official website.
  • Try disabling the firewall.
  • Clear the components folder and restart the client. To do this, open launchpad, type terminal in the search box, in the window that appears, type cd ~/.Octo\ Browser/, press Enter (this should bring you to the Octo Browser directory). Once in the directory, delete the "bin" folder. To do this, enter the command rm -rf bin in the same window. Restart the browser, and its components will be downloaded again.
