Types of proxies

All proxies in Octo Browser are divided into Proxy Manager proxies (proxies that are saved to the quick selection list) and temporary proxies (those that need to be provided manually in the profile settings).

The Proxy Manager is a section where you add your proxies to the list and can quickly connect them to your profiles in one click (no need to re-enter the proxy data).

Octo Browser supports all popular proxy protocols, such as http/https, socks5, or ssh. When choosing a proxy, keep in mind protocol features and the required level of anonymity. For example, http proxies cannot guarantee you completely anonymity, whereas https, socks5, or ssh proxies can send requests without leaving a trace.

In addition to the IPv4 protocol, Octo Browser also supports IPv6 proxies. IPv6 is a newer, more flexible and capacious online protocol. Currently, you can provide IPv6 proxies in the hostname field. Use the following pattern: [host]:port:login:password.

We recommend socks5 or ssh proxies. Try to avoid proxies that come with restrictions (e.g., cannot be used with certain services). This might lead to later complications with checking the proxy when the profile is started.

When buying shared proxies (shared among several buyers), keep in mind that the throughput directly depends on the number of people using the proxy. When using this proxy type, you may experience reduced speeds when accessing resources, or the proxy may become unstable.
